Hui He’s season 2020/2021, after her missed debut as Alzira at the ABAO Bilbao because of covid, opens with her return in China for a concert tour which will have its first stage in Zhuhai on December 19, 2020, in the Huafa Grand Theatre – Zhuhai Opera House, one of the most extraordinary architectonic examples of the modern China.

Zhuhai is in the region of Guangdong, in the south of the People’s Republic of China, and it’s considered one of the Chinese most livable city, thanks to the engagement in the development of the ecology and technics for the preservation of the environment.
The Huafa Grand Theatre, designed by architects Long Ma e Kevin Zhang, arose on 2017 in one of the 217 islands that composes Zhuhai – known as the Pearls’ city – and with its form represents the shining sun with behind the moon. The hall, with its 1600 seats, has one of the world’s best acoustics, visual effects and most advanced technical possibilities.

For her debut in this theatre, Hui He sing a wide-ranging program with some of her signature arias, such as “Vissi d’arte” from Tosca, “La mamma morta” from Andrea Chénier, “Suicidio” from La Gioconda and other famous arias of the most beloved Italian repertoire. The evening also feature some instrumental pieces played by pianist Yang He. Gems are the two Chinese arias that close the first and the second part of the concert: “Pamir, how beautiful is my home town” and “I love this land”.

After the opening concert in Zhuhai, Hui He will sing in Shanghai and Nanjing, in Beijing for New Year’s Concert, Guangzhou, Xi’an where she will play two performances of Turandot on January 15 & 17, Xiamen, Wuhan and Suzhou. This concert’s tour already became, from 2018, a traditional appointment which attracts a huge audience that arrives to acclaim the voice that from China conquered the West.

This year the appointment takes also a strong symbolic connotation, as Hui He told us: «We lived a really hard moment, and we can’t say that we have passed entirely or without pains. That is why it is so meaningful for me to return to my homeland and sing for mypeople. I would never want to lose this appointment between me and my homeland’s audience, and I’m looking forward to being on these stages to give with my voice some peace of mind and hope, and to can live with the audience some moments of sharing. We, artists, do a job that comes from passion and now more than ever our love for art must serve to send messages of positivity. I feel as an ambassador of opera in China, and I’m proud to bring this wonderful art to the Chinese audience».

HUI HE APRE A ZHUHAI IL TOUR DI CONCERTI IN CINA
La stagione 2020/2021 del soprano cinese Hui He, dopo il mancato debutto in Alzira di Giuseppe Verdi all’ABAO Bilbao causa covid, si apre con il ritorno nel suo Paese per un tour di concerti che ha come prima tappa la città di Zhuhai il 19 dicembre 2020, nel Huafa Grand Theatre – Zhuhai Opera House, uno degli esempi architettonici più straordinari della Cina moderna.

Zhuhai si trova nella regione del Guangdong, nel sud della Repubblica Popolare Cinese, ed è considerata una delle città cinesi con la più alta qualità di vita, grazie all’impegno nello sviluppo dell’ecologia e delle tecniche per preservare l’ambiente.
L’Huafa Grand Theatre, opera degli architetti Long Ma e Kevin Zhang, è sorto nel 2017 in una delle 217 isole che compongono l’agglomerato urbano di Zhuhai – nota come “città delle perle” – e che, con la sua forma, rappresenta il sole che brilla e, dietro ad esso, la luna. La sala, che può ospitare 1600 spettatori, è dotata di una delle migliori acustiche al mondo e di effetti visivi e possibilità tecniche tra le più avanzate.

Per il debutto in questo teatro, Hui He propone un programma di ampio respiro, tra cui alcuni dei suoi cavalli di battaglia, come “Vissi d’arte” da Tosca, “La mamma morta” da Andrea Chénier, “Suicidio” da La Gioconda e altre arie dal più celebre e amato repertorio italiano. La serata vede anche alcuni estratti strumentali eseguiti al pianoforte da Yang He. Due gemme, sono le arie cinesi che chiudono la prima e la seconda parte del concerto, “Pamir, how beautiful is my hometown” e “I love this land”.

Il soprano canterà poi a Shanghai e Nanjin, a Pechino per il Concerto di Capodanno, Guangzhou e Xi’an, dove rivestirà anche il ruolo di Turandot per due recite il 15 e 17 gennaio, e poi Xiamen, Wuhan e Suzhou. Dal 2018 questo tour è diventato una tradizione in grado di richiamare un folto pubblico, che accorre per applaudire la voce che dalla Cina ha conquistato l’occidente.

Quest’anno l’appuntamento assume anche una forte connotazione simbolica, come racconta la stessa Hui He: «Abbiamo vissuto un momento molto difficile, e non possiamo dire di averlo superato del tutto o senza dolori. Per questo motivo, per me ritornare nella mia patria e cantare per il mio popolo assume un valore fortissimo. Non avrei mai voluto perdere questo appuntamento ormai consolidato tra me e il pubblico della mia terra. Non vedo l’ora di essere su questi palcoscenici per poter donare con la mia voce un po’ di serenità e speranza, e per poter vivere insieme agli spettatori un momento di condivisione. Noi artisti facciamo un mestiere che nasce dalla passione e ora più che mai questo nostro amore per l’arte deve servire per trasmettere messaggi di positività. Mi sento un’ambasciatrice dell’opera lirica in Cina e sono orgogliosa di portare questa grande arte al pubblico cinese».
